George Dodge a 70 year old man was being interviewed by Rosaline Smith. Mr. Dodge's interview took place in his home in Worthington, Massachusettes on Jaunary 24, 1939. Mr. Dodge was a Yankee Odd Job Man and a mason and carpenter by trade. He was talking about how young people don't appreciate things these days. He said, " when I was young boys were satisfied with very little." "The present generation have too much. They don't appreciate anything." I think Mr. Dodge lived during difficult times. He said the Great Depression of 1930 was nothing compared to the depression right after the Civil War. It sounded like Mr. Dodge had no regrets for living during hard times. He said,"I'm glad I lived in calmer days-weren't easy days, but they were a lot happier to my mind."

This picture is a good example of the Great Depression because it shows how people had to work hard to make money.
